Ferrari F8 Tributo Launch in Sydney

    October 22, 20193 Mins Read

On Wednesday August 29th 2019, The Luxury Network and their guests were some of the lucky 300 invitees who gathered at White Bay Cruise Terminal for an immersive Ferrari experience paying homage to the most powerful V8 in Ferrari history and unveiling the Ferrari F8 Tributo for the first time on Australian soil.

This all-encompassing event allowed guests to delve deeper into Ferrari’s antiquity and see the progression of its most influential engine over the years. Guests were greeted by a custom red light installation leading them into the concealed ‘birdcage’. Soon after, Herbert Appleroth Chief Executive Officer for Ferrari Australasia, addressed attendees. As the intensity of the forthcoming reveal grew, guests welcomed the commanding roar of the F8 engine; the curtains then dropped unveiling the new Ferrari F8 Tributo.

“We are extremely proud to bring the much anticipated Ferrari F8 Tributo to Australian shores. This vehicle pays homage to our history. The Ferrari F8 Tributo brings the exhilarating performance of the best 8-cylinder in the world to all drivers, with unprecedented handling and superior ride comfort.” Said Herbert Appleroth, Chief Executive Officer of Ferrari Australasia.

A reveal like no other, the Ferrari F8 Tributo joined a prestigious line up of the past V8 models provided by local private collectors. The cars on display included the Ferrari 308 GTB 1975, Ferrari 328 GTS 1985, Ferrari 348 TB 1989, Ferrari F355 Berlinetta 1994, Ferrari 360 Modena 1999, Ferrari F430 2004, Ferrari 458 Italia 2009 and finally the Ferrari 488 GTB 2015. A line up of this stature is rare to come by, offering a once in a lifetime preview for guests.

Guests enjoyed an evening full of glamour. A decadent Ferrari red floral arrangement by esteemed master floral artist George Low draped the ceiling and bar, where guests were served GH Mumm Chamagne and Italian Negroni’s. A feast for the eyes, guests enjoyed a selection of luxurious food offerings including a classic Italian Aperitivo bar serving beautifully curated antipasto plates of San Danielle prosciutto sliced to order with hand- rolled grissini, marinated Sicilian olives and aged parmesan.

A custom caviar bar circled the room throughout the night, offering guests the Simon Johnson Caviar Masterclass guide through a tasting of the delicacy, demonstrating the subtle differences in types and regions.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo is the new mid-rear-engined sports car that represents the highest expression of the Prancing Horse’s classic two-seater berlinetta. It is a car with unique characteristics; making the exhilarating performance of the best 8-cylinder in the world accessible to all drivers, with unprecedented handling and superior ride comfort.

Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre, the Ferrari F8 Tributo is essentially a bridge to a new design language that will continue to emphasize Ferrari’s key characteristics of high performance and extreme aerodynamic efficiency. In fact, the Ferrari F8 Tributo is the most aerodynamically efficient series-production mid-rear-engined berlinetta ever designed.

“We truly expect this stunning new Ferrari V8 Sports car to become THE dream car for clients and fans around the world. The Ferrari Tributo truly embodies the pinnacle of Italian excellence and the V8 engine is seen as the very epitome of sportiness and driving pleasure. With maximum level of usability, outstanding design and innovative technologies, we will provide a new level of driving experience to our customers.” Said Dieter Knechtel, Chief Executive Officer of Ferrari Far East and Middle East Hub.

What a special and unforgettable evening to celebrate the arrival of the Ferrari F8 Tributo!
